Something For The Weekend
Morning world, it’s been a sad week. For the first time in history a nation has taken the internet offline. (Not including N. Koreak who never got it in the first place). A mad dictator has become public enemy number one in his own country with reports coming in this morning from the remaining tweeters that havehacked the network that the army are beginning to defect. Will our leaders please take a minute to recognise what a country in the red-dwarf stage of collapse looks like and take a step back from repression.
In other news, as I type a Ugandan lesbian is being put on a plane from England to face certain torture for her sexuality in a country where yesterday a prominent homesexual man was murdered in his home and today a bill is being discussed that will propose the death penalty for homosexuality if passed.
Oh and if you think it’s just barmy banana republics that have been in a pickle, across the pond the US republican party are spending their conference debating a bill that will redefine rape. No, believe it or not this is not to enable the prosecution of Julian Assange. It is even crazier than that. The purpose is to extend the denial of the option of state funded abortions (which are already not available to the US public on moral grounds) to statutory i.e. child rape victims. House Speaker John Boehner has dubbed the bill a top priority for Congress.
All in all a bollocks week for the human race. Here’s some psychology to make it all better.
